Field of Interest:

Analytical Chemistry, Chemiluminescence (CL) and  Bioluminescence (BL),  Flow  Injection analysis, Enzyme immobilization, Methods development for biomedical and clinical assays based on CL and BL reactions. Trace metal analysis, On-line measurement of surfactants using dynamic surface tension detection system.

"The applications of chemiluminescence to trace metal ions analysis", (funded  by The University Grants Commission (UGC), Islamabad,1988 - 89).

"The applications of chemiluminescence to enzymatic methods of analysis", (funded by the National Scientific and Research Development Board (NSRDB), Islamabad, 1992 - 95)

"Bioluminescent assays of ATP as a tool of quantitation of the viability of vaccines", (funded by The Third world Academy of Sciences  (TWAS), Italy, 1998 - 99)..

"Determination of toxic metals (Zn, Ni and Cd) in liquid waste of Quetta using continuous flow analysis", (funded by The TWAS, Italy, 1993 – 94).

"Clinical applications of electrogenerated chemiluminescence detection using tris(2,2-bipyridine) ruthenium (II) with flow injection analysis." Approved for funding by the Pakistan Science Foundation.

Research Supervision and Courses Taught:

M.Phil and Ph.D. students are supervised on projects sponsored by the National and International Organizations. Teaching various courses of analytical Chemistry at post-graduate level.
