Technical
Team and Responsibilities
1.
Director:
He is the
administrative head of the directorate. He reports to the DG HR
& Admin. He is responsible to also maintain close liaison with
Registrar, Deans and Department heads to keep abreast with the
emerging needs and developments.
2.
Network Administrator:
He is the in charge of the whole setup. He is the key person to
impose network policies, securities and is responsible for
trouble shooting issues plus configuration of network devices.
3.
Webmaster:
He is responsible for development and maintenance issues related
to University’s official Web site. He is also responsible to
provide technical assistance regarding network issues.
4.
Programmer:
He is responsible for software development and maintenance
issues. In the absence of the senior network staff, the
programmer acts against their posts so that smooth running of
the network and website maybe ensured.
5.
IT Trainer:
His duties involve providing different types of trainings to UoB
staff. He is responsible to arrange refreshers and new trainings
for UoB faculty and administrative staff.
6.
LAN Administrators:
Their duties involve smooth running of computer network, V-LANS,
servers, troubleshooting of network equipment and support of the
staff.
7.
LAN Technicians:
Their duties
involve fully supporting the senior staff, to trouble shoot the
end users system problems / faults, providing network nodes,
cabling, ducting and installation of software and hardware.
8.
Telephone Operators:
The duties
involve fully supporting the senior staff, to trouble shoot end
users intercom, and internal telephone problems. They have to
attend all the complaints coming from the end users and than
have to forward these complaints to the concerned area
technicians after registering the complaints into the official
register and software. |
