Media Studies Department Lauded as Pioneer in DIMS Adoption.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Balochistan chaired a high-level meeting with Deans and Chairpersons to review the performance of departments in implementing the Departmental Information Management System (DIMS). The meeting aimed to evaluate the adoption and effective utilization of DIMS across various academic units of the university.
The Department of Media Studies received special recognition for its proactive and consistent use of DIMS.
The Deputy Controller of the Semester Cell Mr. Imran Naeem and the Director of Information Technology, Mr. Salal Khoso both praised the department, stating that "Media Studies is among the pioneering departments that adopted DIMS from day one and continues to utilize it efficiently."
The commendation reflects the department's commitment to embracing digital transformation and streamlining academic and administrative processes.
The Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of DIMS in modern academic governance and encouraged all departments to follow the example set by Media Studies.

The Department of Media Studies, University of Balochistan, in collaboration with the Faculty Training and Development Center (FTDC), successfully organized a Media Literacy Training Workshop for the university's faculty members and administrative officers.
The training session aimed to enhance participants' understanding of media dynamics, disinformation, critical media consumption, and the evolving digital communication landscape.
The workshop featured a team of expert trainers, including Dr. Muhammad Fahim Baloch, Chairperson of the Department of Media Studies; Dr. Babrak Niaz, and Mr. Abdul Malik. Chairperson FTDC, UoB, Dr. Shahida Habib Alizai was also present on the occasion.
