Academic Programs and Admission Requirements
Program Title: Master of Science (M. Sc)
Duration: Two years (Four Semesters)
Entry Requirements: The minimum entry requirement for the Master of Science program will be a Second Class/Division bachelor degree with at least one of the following subjects:
Geography, Economics, Agriculture, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Business Administration, Commerce, Statistics, Public Administration, Women/Gender Studies, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science.
Program Title: Master of Philosophy (M. Phil)
Duration: Two years (Four Semesters)
Entry Requirements: A candidate seeking admission in M.Phil/M.S degree program must possess a sixteen years education or 4 years B.A / B.S or equivalent program after F.A / F.S (130 credits hours) or Master degree in the subjects / related field such as:
Geography, Economics, Agriculture, Statistics, Environmental Science, Development Studies, Public Administration, women / gender studies, social work, and psychology from a recognized university/ institution with a minimum 50% obtained marks (Annual System) or its equivalent 2.50 CGPA in semester system.
Program Title: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Duration: Five years (Ten Semesters)
Entry Requirements: For pursuing a PhD degree, a 30 credit hours M.Phil/MS degree with CGPA of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00 or overall 60% marks in annual system or equivalent in the relevant subject/field is a prerequisite from any recognized university. In case of foreign degree, it will be made sure that it is equivalent to Pakistani M.Phil/MS degree from any recognized university institute.
Other Conditions: M.Phil/ PhD programs will be opened to all who meet the admission criteria. However, serving candidates will have to submit N.O.C from their respective department with the application form. A study leave for a period/ duration of the program of study must be submitted at the time of registration. The candidate will be a full time regular student during the entire duration of the course work.
Note: Admissions for M.Sc in DMDS will be announced in March 2016.
